UK-Iranian national arrested in RAF Fairford investigation released on bail
Counter Terrorism Policing said the 25-year-old’s bail follows searches of two London properties and an investigation into suspicious vans near the base.
On Saturday, October 3, Counter Terrorism Policing released a 25-year-old dual UK-Iranian national on bail after his arrest in Westminster on Thursday, October 1, on suspicion of preparation of terrorist acts under the Terrorism Act 2006.
The investigation stems from events on Sunday, September 27, at RAF Fairford in Gloucestershire, where a major incident was declared near the United States Air Force site.
Searches of two London properties have concluded, while five British nationals in their mid-20s were previously arrested on suspicion of explosives offences and terrorism, then bailed.
Counter Terrorism Policing confirmed the investigation into circumstances surrounding events in Gloucestershire is continuing despite the suspect's release on bail.
