In December 2024, India launched the Proba-3 mission to observe the solar corona, the outer atmosphere of the Sun. The mission consists of two spacecraft flying 150 meters apart. Together, they performed a millimeter-precision flight maneuver so that one of them cast a shadow on the other, creating an artificial solar eclipse.
