2 pets die after fire tears through Searsport home

A Searsport home was destroyed and two pets died in a fire Tuesday afternoon. The fire is believed to have started in the kitchen on the front side of the home on 438 East Main St., according to Interim Searsport Fire Chief A.J. Koch. The Burlington Fire Department has released details regarding a Monday evening fire at 624 Hedge Avenue, determining the cause to be a failure of an extension cord.
