Two arrested in Halloween hit-and-run that left Birmingham 4-year-old in critical condition

Just before 8 p.m. Halloween night, emergency crews responded to the intersection of 9th Avenue South and 56th Street South for reports that at least two children had been struck by a vehicle. Police quickly arrived on the scene, where they found a 25-year-old woman, her 9-month-old son and a 4- year-old little boy. The vehicle that hit them drove away from the scene. It was believed to be a dark-colored Audi A3 between 2009 and 2012 with damage to the rear passenger mirror, police said. With the community's help, police say they were able to identify two suspects: Justin Carter and Anna Rodgers.
