Up to 3,000 attendees are expected at the event featuring Gov. Glenn Youngkin and Megyn Kelly with enhanced security after Charlie Kirk’s assassination two weeks prior.
- On Wednesday night at Virginia Tech's Burruss Hall Auditorium, the Virginia Tech chapter of Turning Point USA is hosting the American Comeback Tour stop with up to 3,000 attendees expected.
- On Monday, more than 2,000 people packed an auditorium at the University of Minnesota for the first post-assassination Turning Point USA event, and Charlie Kirk had planned to attend the Virginia Tech stop as part of the nationwide American Comeback Tour.
- During the program, Youngkin told attendees `Each one of you is the light. A light that shines in the corner of the room, a light that shines brightly on evil. A light that chases out darkness. That is each and every one of you`, Virginia governor Youngkin said.
- Implementing heightened security, Virginia Tech banned bags and cameras, added screenings, and adjusted traffic and parking, while Virginia Tech police patrolled visibly as some students chose not to attend.
