The TRNC Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement regarding the "rotating presidency" model, which has recently come back into the spotlight. The Ministry stated that the model is incompatible with the policy of sovereign equality and equal international status, and called on the international community to affirm the TRNC's equal status.
The Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) stressed the need for the reaffirmation of its inherent rights to sovereign equality and equal international status, and once again called on the international community to take steps in this direction.
The TRNC Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a written statement calling on the international community to affirm sovereign equality and equal international status. The Ministry stated that while the TRNC's equal status must be recognized for a lasting agreement, rotating presidency is contrary to this position.
