- Winter Storm Fern brought snow, sleet and freezing rain causing widespread ice that damaged critical infrastructure and electric utilities and claimed 29 deaths.
- FEMA Public Assistance is authorized for Cheatham, Chester, Clay, Davidson, Hardin, Henderson, Hickman, Lewis, Macon, McNairy, Perry, Sumner, Trousdale, Wayne, and Williamson counties, enabling eligible government entities and private nonprofits, including houses of worship, to apply for reimbursement.
- Immediate relief includes reimbursement for qualifying disaster costs through FEMA's Public Assistance program, and additional counties may be added if ongoing damage assessments meet federal criteria.
- State officials will continue working with FEMA to seek additional assistance, including Individual Assistance, after more than 365,000 customers were without power at the storm's peak.
