- Polestar officially launched its flagship luxury electric sedan, the Polestar 5 GT, today at an event in Munich coinciding with IAA Mobility 2025.
- The reveal follows a development journey starting with the 2020 Precept concept and a 2021 confirmation transforming the four-door GT into the Polestar 5.
- The Polestar 5 features a bonded aluminum chassis with 13% recycled aluminum, an 800-volt architecture enabling charging from 10% to 80% in 22 minutes, and exclusive Michelin tires ranging from 20- to 22-inches.
- The Dual Motor trim delivers 748hp with 599lb-ft torque and 0-60mph in 3.8 seconds, while the Performance variant offers 884hp, 749lb-ft torque, and 0-60mph in 3.1 seconds; Polestar claims WLTP ranges of 670km and 565km respectively.
- Customer deliveries begin in the first half of 2026 across 24 markets, signaling Polestar's commitment despite recent sales collapses in China and a $2 billion loss reported in 2024.
