- Preliminary investigations revealed Yusuf hid in the Gomari Costain area of Jere Local Government Area with assistance from Private Baba Kamal Sale, an associate from the Corps of Intelligence in Dikwa.
- Acting on credible human intelligence, the 7 Provost Group placed the soldier under 24-hour surveillance before intercepting him, according to Acting Military Information Officer Muhammed Goni in a statement issued Sunday.
- Yusuf remains in custody of the 7 Provost Group for further investigation, as the military emphasizes its firm stance against internal sabotage and commitment to ongoing counter-insurgency operations in the North-East.
