Tragedy as Boy, 3, Dies After Falling Four Floors From Cyprus Hotel Window
Police say the 37-year-old father was arrested on suspicion of reckless or negligent conduct as investigators examine the fatal fall.
On Sunday evening, a three-year-old British boy died after falling from the fourth-floor corridor window of a hotel near Chloraka, Cyprus, while vacationing with his family.
Police arrested the boy's 37-year-old father at 10.15pm on Sunday on suspicion of causing death by reckless or negligent acts and failing in his duty of care.
The family had checked into the Paphos hotel on Saturday, just one day before the tragedy, with the boy's five-year-old sister also present during the holiday.
Monday morning, the father is scheduled to appear before the Paphos district court, where officers will request an eight-day remand in custody to facilitate ongoing investigations.
Forensic pathologists Angeliki Papetta and Orthodoxos Orthodoxou will conduct a post-mortem examination at the Nicosia mortuary on Monday at 12pm to investigate the circumstances of the fatal fall.
