Dunfermline Player Graham Carey 'Heartbroken' After Death of Partner

On Sunday, March 22, Rachel Borthwick, partner of Scottish footballer Graham Carey, died at age 37 at CK Birla Hospital in Delhi, India, following a four-and-a-half-year battle with triple-negative breast cancer.
After her cancer returned in March 2023, Borthwick traveled to India for treatment, believing no further medical options remained available to her in the UK.

Carey announced the tragic news on Wednesday, prompting condolences from Dunfermline Athletic and former club Plymouth Argyle, who expressed their deepest sympathies to his family.
In an emotional social media tribute, Carey wrote, "No words can describe the pain," while Borthwick's sister Sarah described how Rachel mounted a "brave and relentless battle" for more than four years.
