Fire on Evansville's east side claims the life of one person

HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) -- One is dead after a fire broke out on Evansville's east side. Officials with Evansville Dispatch say they got a call about a fire on 6:26 p.m. on Thursday. They went on to say EFD, EPD and AMR are responding to the fire in the 200 block of South Saint James Street. Officials have not yet released what caused the fire. Eyewitness News is working to get more information.

A traffic accident claimed the life of a man on the Troncal del Caribe highway near the Once de Noviembre neighborhood of Santa Marta. The deceased was Wilfrido Martínez, known as "Wil," and lived in the Bonda district. According to witnesses, "Wil" was riding a motorcycle when he apparently lost control of the vehicle and ended up colliding with a dump truck.
