Frenchwoman Maeva Squiban won the 6th stage of the Tour de France for women and was looking forward to the biggest victory of her career.
Maeva Squiban wins the sixth stage of the Tour de France Femmes. The young French rider crosses the finish line solo, more than a minute behind the favorites group. Kimberley Le Court remains the race leader. Demi Vollering is fourth, 31 seconds behind.
The peloton enters the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region on Thursday and will face the first mountain stage of the edition. Pauline Ferrand-Prévot, Kim Le Court-Pienaar and the others will have to climb four climbs, including one of the first category.
