KENTUCKY, UNITED STATES, AUG 7 – Apple's $2.5 billion investment will increase Corning's Kentucky workforce by 50% and establish an innovation center to develop advanced materials for future products.
- On Aug. 6, Apple announced it will partner with Corning to produce 100% of iPhone and Apple Watch cover glass in Harrodsburg, Kentucky, investing $2.5B from its $100B domestic plan.
- With a $600 billion American Manufacturing Program, Apple expanded its Kentucky operations amid President Donald Trump’s tariffs to boost U.S. domestic manufacturing.
- The expansion includes Corning dedicating 100% of its Harrodsburg facility to Apple, increasing Kentucky workforce by 50%, and establishing an Apple-Corning Innovation Center.
- In response, U.S. Rep. Andy Barr said `Now, our KY plant will produce all of the glass for these products` and President Donald Trump added `The great people of Kentucky, you're going to find it a great place to do business`.
