Three of the most threatened reptile species are set to receive a huge boost to their recovery rate in the New Forest.

Reptiles can have a hard time if the drought persists, expects project leader Jelger Herder from the RAVON knowledge organization. “A bone-dry year would make it very difficult for them.” This spring, there were already dozens of wildfires, including major fires on the heath in Ede and near the Meinweg. “That requires a lot of reptile casualties.”
