Three Men Arrested in Germany in Suspected Reichsbuerger Plot Probe
- On Thursday, Bavarian officials detained three men believed to be members of the Reichsbuerger movement during coordinated searches in Bavaria, Saxony, and Thuringia.
- The arrests came after inquiries revealed that the group conducted weapons exercises in 2022 at an old army shooting range to ready themselves for a potential armed attack on the German Bundestag.
- The Reichsbuerger group contests modern German democracy and is suspected of conspiring to violently overthrow the government and constitutional order.
- Prosecutors stated that the firearms training was intended to ready participants for a potential assault on the German Bundestag, and trials are underway against 27 suspected leaders, including Heinrich XIII Prince Reuss.
- The arrests and trials suggest a continued law enforcement effort to dismantle the far-right group's violent plans and uphold Germany's constitutional order.
