- Following last July's one-on-one direct messages rollout, Meta is extending messaging to groups to deepen in-app connections.
- Group chats support up to 50 participants and require mutual follows to limit misuse, allowing Threads users ages 18 and up to share media, name chats, and use link invites on the mobile-only app.
