An international team of scientists discovered a new species of poisonous frog that is only 15 mm long in the Purus river basin, in the Amazon of Peru, reported the National Service of Natural Areas Protected by the State (Sernanp). This amphibian the size of a grape, called ‘Ranitimeya hwata’, belongs to the genus Ranitomeya of the dendrobatids (Dendrobatidae), a family of anurous amphibians known as dart frogs or arrowhead frogs.
