The National Security Council of the Seimas approved Lithuania's withdrawal from the Ottawa Convention on the prohibition of anti-personnel mines
The National Security and Defense Committee (KNBO) of the Seimas on Wednesday unanimously approved Lithuania's proposal to withdraw from the Ottawa Convention banning anti-personnel mines.

The National Security and Defense Committee (NSDK) of the Seimas unanimously approved on Wednesday a proposal for Lithuania to withdraw from the Ottawa Convention banning anti-personnel mines. Last week, the proposal for withdrawal was approved by 103 Seimas members, with four abstaining, and no members voting against. Withdrawal from the convention would allow Lithuania to acquire, produce, stockpile, use and transfer anti-personnel mines.
