The sad tale of the lost radar dishes of the Lincolnshire Wolds

Summary by Ground News
RAF Stenigot was part of the Chain Home network, the first early warning radar network in the world. During the 1950s, it became an important NATO 'ACE High' station and the four 60ft-wide microwave dishes were built to help detect and warn about a nuclear attack by the Soviet Union. In October 2018, enthusiasts reported that three of the dishes had disappeared. Their disappearance sparked an investigation by East Lindsey District Council. The dishes were once protected as listed structures, but the listing expired almost by accident.
