The average price of light in Spain reached 59.92 euros/MWh between 1 and 18 June, 253% more than in May due to the strong increase in combined gas cycles.
The average price of electricity in the Spanish wholesale market has more than tripled so far in June compared to the particularly low prices of May, due to the increase in the generation of the combined gas cycles (CCG) to compensate for the strong impulse of demand and the lower hydraulic generation.

The daily price of the Spanish wholesale market ('pool') averaged 59.92 euros/MWh between 1 and 18 June, leaving behind the extremely low values of April (26.81 euros) and May (16.97 euros).According to the ASE Group, the price spike in June is due to the increase in the generation of the combined gas cycles (CCG) to compensate for the strong demand momentum and the lower hydraulic generation.
