Netflix Opens Casting Call for Love Is Blind Canada
Casting is open for the Canadian version of the dating series, which has spawned 10 U.S. seasons and adaptations in several countries.
- On Tuesday, Netflix announced that it is bringing "Love Is Blind" to Canada, with casting now open for the popular dating series.
- Participants enter isolated pods to date and form emotional connections without seeing each other, requiring engagement before meeting face-to-face. The format has spawned international versions in Japan, Brazil, Sweden, Mexico, Germany, Italy, and France.
- Toronto-Based Insight Productions, the company behind Big Brother Canada and Canada Shore, will produce the series. Danielle Woodrow and Tara Woodbury, directors of content for Netflix Canada, said, "Now it's Canada's turn."
- Insight co-chief content officer Erin Brock said she is "beyond excited" to work with a Canadian cast. Executive producers Jessica Brunton and John Brunton will also serve on the production team.
- While there is no word yet on who will host the Canadian edition, the show will test whether couples actually say "I do" or if life realities derail their connections.
