At a recent wedding, I witnessed a lovzar (chechen dance) being announced, but there weren’t enough guys for it. While the elegant girls were gathering in the center of the room, the guys, dressed casually, some in tracksuits, stood on the second-floor balcony. The lovzar almost didn’t happen; the men’s side of the semicircle was empty. The guys didn’t want to come down, and in the end, it only lasted about half an hour.
