5.8% of deaths recorded in 2024 in the Netherlands were due to euthanasia
In 2024, the Regional Committees (TENs) reviewing the euthanasia carried out in the Netherlands received 9,958 notifications: 10% more than in 2023 and the highest figure recorded since the entry into force in 2002 of the law regulating this practice.
