The Norwegian Competition Authority does not require Telenor to notify the acquisition of Swedish Bahnhof. The reason is that Telenor chose to separate Bahnhof's Norwegian operations from the agreement.
The Norwegian Competition Authority (Konkurransetilsynet) will not require Telenor to notify the acquisition of the Swedish Bahnhof after the Norwegian operations have been separated from the planned transaction, the authority said on Thursday.
The Norwegian Competition Authority is concerned about competition in the broadband market and recently announced that it may be necessary to impose a notification requirement for Telenor's acquisition of competitor Bahnhof. Telenor has now amended the acquisition so that Bahnhof's Norwegian operations are no longer included.
