Azerbaijan to Export 1.2 Bcm of Gas to Syria
KILIS, TURKEY, AUG 2 – The pipeline will deliver up to 2 billion cubic meters of Azerbaijani gas annually, increasing Syria's electricity supply from 3-4 hours to about 10 hours daily, officials said.
- On Saturday, Azerbaijan began supplying natural gas to Syria via Turkey with the inauguration of the Kilis-Aleppo pipeline.
- The initiative, carried out through a three-party energy exchange partnership between Azerbaijan, Turkey, and Qatar, aims to address the critical energy deficit in Syria caused by the conflict that began in 2011.
