The Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs complained that the elections demonstrated "the extreme polarization" of Armenian society, in which "there is a broad request for the development of ties with Russia".
Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova stated that the parliamentary elections in Armenia were held “in an atmosphere of harsh repression” by the authorities, and democratic procedures were “grossly violated.”
