On July 2, it was reported that the Independent Commission of Inquiry into Covid-19 Pandemia in Mexico rejected the appointment of Hugo López Gatell as a representative to the World Health Organization (WHO).The commission, in a statement, described the appointment as ‘inaudit’, noting that during the pandemic, it allegedly documented serious omissions and made decisions that would cause the fourth highest level of excess mortality in the world.
