The head of the National Centre for the Environment, Andrei Corlan, said that, following controls on waste management carried out in almost all parts of Romania, it was found that the rate of recycling has not increased, as expected, but has fallen by about 3 per cent. Following these controls, approximately 17 million of them have been threatened by proposals and solutions, including at the legislative level, to stimulate recycling.
