In April 2024, the Régie immobilier de la Ville de Paris (RIVP) ordered a pensioner before the court for non-occupation of his two rooms, obtained by transfer of a lease after his mother's death in 1989. After a thorough investigation, the RIVV convinced the courts to terminate the lease and order expulsion within fifteen days.
The tenant of a social housing unit was expelled for lack of occupation of the premises. In fact, she used it as a secondary residence. Having received the transfer of the lease on the death of her mother, she had admitted to being "less present" because of "extended stays with her elderly sister."
