Estonia’s economy is emerging from recession, with the Bank of Estonia forecasting growth of about 2.5 per cent this year and in each of the next two years.
The recovery is being driven by tax changes, higher public spending and stronger exports. The uniform basic tax allowance introduced this year has lifted household incomes and consumption, while government spending financed by borrowing has provided a further boost.
