The bestselling romance writer Uzma Jalaluddin is switching gears. Her new novel “Detective Aunty” is a murder mystery, set in a fictional neighbourhood in Scarborough, Ontario. Uzma tells Power how writing about love is similar to writing about murder, and why she always wanted to write a mystery.

The trial of Serpil B., the mother of 12-year-old Kerem Karakaya, who was allegedly shot and killed by his friend with a rifle in Yalova in 2018, began 7 years later for the crime of premeditated murder. The lawyer of little Kerem stated that four fingerprints were found on Kerem's arm during the examination and that the victim of the murder may have been killed because he saw something he shouldn't have seen.
