The Court in Azerbaijan sentenced political scientist Bahruz Samedov to 15 years ' imprisonment on charges of treason (art. 274 of the Criminal Code), as reported by the Azerbaijani Radio Liberty/Azadlyk service. His lawyer Zibeid Sadigova considers the sentence to be unreasonable and unfair. The defence intends to appeal the court ' s decision.
