2027 BMW I3 Touring Confirmed, but No I4 Liftback Replacement

- BMW revealed the 2027 i3 as an all-new electric sedan this week, teasing an i3 Touring wagon to expand its electric lineup on the new Neue Klasse platform.
- The i3 sedan shares the Neue Klasse platform with the iX3 SUV, with its aerodynamic shape enabling up to 900km of WLTP range.
- Featuring an 800V electrical architecture, the sedan allows charging at up to 400kW and includes bidirectional V2L, V2H, and V2G functionality.
- BMW Group product boss Jochen Goller confirmed i4 production in Munich will end next year, with no direct replacement planned for the existing model.
- Future plans include a new 4 Series offering both combustion and electric power, with engineers aiming to make updated models feel "basically a new car.
