Ahead of the start of Diet deliberations on the bill to turn the Science Council of Japan into a special corporation, scholars held a rally in the Diet on the 11th and adopted a statement calling for the bill to be scrapped. They also called on the Science Council of Japan, which will hold its general meeting from the 14th, to express its intentions regarding the bill.
