The Barcelona Zoo has recently reinforced measures to protect the animals from the heat wave, which has arrived after an atypical end to July, with rain and lower temperatures. The center's managers have activated the special protocol against the heat, which is launched when the thermometer exceeds 30°C. According to the Zoo's director, Antoni Alarcón, this year it had to be applied in June.
