The commerce ministry expects exports to remain strong through the rest of the year, supported by electronics demand and greater clarity over US tariffs.
Ms. Nattiya stated that the outlook for Thai exports in 2026 remains within the original forecast range of 5–11% growth, with a median value of 8%, and the Ministry of Commerce will review the figures on a quarterly basis.
The Trade Policy and Strategy Office (TPSO) of the Ministry of Commerce revealed that Thai exports in August reached US$34,618.7 million, driven by electronics and fruit exports to China. The US market also grew by 48.7%. For the first eight months of this year, exports expanded by 18.9%, but the cumulative trade deficit reached US$37,837.2 million.
