IPMA recorded two hot waves, from 15 to 20 June and from 27 June to the first days of July. A new absolute end was reached for June, with the weather station marking 46.6 oC.

The figures are not closed, but the Directorate-General for Health estimates that during the last heat wave that occupied Portugal, more than 69 people may have died in most of them over 85 years of age.
