The Temelín nuclear power plant disconnected the first unit from the transmission system after 9:00 p.m. on Friday. The reason is the planned replacement of part of the fuel and various investment projects. The shutdown will last approximately two months, said the power plant's spokesman, Marek Sviták.
Of the 163 fuel assemblies, 54 will be replaced at the power plant, six more than last year. The outage will last approximately two months.
