Teen Fighting for Life After Stabbing
A 15-year-old boy was stabbed in Terrigal on Friday at 9:45pm, seeking help at a nearby Painters Lane home before paramedics rushed him to Gosford Hospital in critical condition.
Brisbane Water Police District investigators believe the victim was with friends when they encountered a second group. Detective Chief Inspector John Zdrilic said, "Those two groups met up in the Terrigal area; they appear to have gone to Painters Lane."
Police have established a crime scene and interviewed witnesses, but no arrests have been made as investigators have yet to find the weapon or identify any persons of interest.
Following the teenager's surgery, officers are urging anyone with dashcam or mobile footage to assist investigations by contacting Gosford Police Station or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
The Brisbane Water Police District has established a strike force to investigate the stabbing's circumstances, with investigators currently reviewing witness accounts to determine what led to the encounter.
