Eight people have died and one more is still hospitalized in the state of Sonora, in northern Mexico, after in recent days they received suspected irregular intravenous serums in a private clinic, state authorities reported this Tuesday.

The Sonora Ministry of Health reported that there are 8 deaths of patients who underwent injections of vitamin serum in Hermosillo. "There have been 11 suspected cases associated with the application of intravenous solutions by the same treating physician," the state agency reported. "Of the total, 8 deaths are reported, 1 person hospitalized and 2 persons recovered. We continue without generating new cases after the closure of the facility."
