The Syrian Interior Ministry announced the capture of Ghassan Assaf, the right-hand man and office manager of the overthrown regime, and Sari Muayyed Makhlouf, one of the perpetrators of the Banyas massacre, in an operation targeting key figures of the ousted regime. Authorities stated that both men were wanted for massacres of civilians and terrorist activities.
