City of Xenia to hold free tree giveaway at local brewery - The Xenia Gazette

XENIA — In celebration of Arbor Day, the City of Xenia’s tree committee will host a tree giveaway. According to the city, three-to-four-year-old seedlings potted in three-by-three containers will be available. Some of the varieties available will include Red Maple, Paw Paw, Red Oak, Eastern Redbud, Arrowood Viburmum, Winterberry Holly, and White Pine. Each year, the Syracuse Snoflakers hold the annual Grinch/Grinchette contest in December at DDD’s to raise money for the community of Syracuse. This year, over $1,500 was raised. This year’s Grinch and Grinchette were Joe and Alexis Pavlk. They chose for their portion of the proceeds to be donated to the Syracuse Backpack Program.
