The Swiss voted for the so-called "Burka Initiative" back in 2021. Now the government has announced the date on which a nationwide ban on veiling will come into effect. This also includes other groups.
Anyone who covers their face in public will in future have to expect a fine. However, the Federal Council has decided on some exceptions.
