On the evening of Tuesday, July 29, 2025, the City of Sweetwater responded to a water leak in the 1000 block of East 13th Street. While repairing the leak, 23-year-old Robert Saucedo suffered a fatal injury.

SWEETWATER, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) - A City of Sweetwater employee was killed while responding to a water leak Tuesday evening. Robert Saucedo, 23, suffered what is described only as a "fatal injury" while making repairs to the leak on the 1000 block of E 13th Street. He was pronounced deceased at the hospital. Saucedo had been with the City of Sweetwater's Water Distribution Department since October 2024 and was working toward furthering his career.…
