Swatch sees sales rise in second half of 2025
- Friday, Swatch Group reported sales rose 4.7% at constant exchange rates in the second half of 2025, while full-year sales fell to 6.28 billion Swiss francs.
- Industry figures say U.S. tariffs, initially set at 31 percent and then increased to 39 percent last August, were reduced to 15 percent, amid market pressures like a strong Swiss franc and declining Chinese market.
- Shipments to the United States rose 50.8 percent in December, and France saw about a 50% leap, while bi-metallic watches' value grew 41.2%.
- The group said H2 momentum continued into January, expecting strong demand growth in 2026 despite a 2.1% operating margin, a `strongly negative` production segment result, and Baume & Mercier sold to Damiani.
- Despite pockets of growth, total Swiss watch exports for 2025 reached 25.6 billion Swiss francs, with 14.6 million watches shipped and a second consecutive positive quarter in all regions.
