Rio Tinto CEO Jakob Stausholm, who oversaw a major investment in lithium and implemented corporate reforms at a company that has been heavily criticized for workplace toxicity during his four-and-a-half-year tenure, is leaving the position abruptly, surprising investors. The company said in a statement only that Stausholm will step down by the end of the year while a replacement is found.
