‘Stir at Ramlila Ground Permitted, No Word on CP Rally’: Delhi Police on INDIA Bloc’s Protest
Police said the rally can proceed only with CCTV, crowd-control and traffic measures, and no march outside the venue will be allowed.
On Sunday, November 1, 2026, the INDIA bloc will hold a "Chalo Dilli" rally at Ramlila Maidan to demand the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar.
The event stems from Opposition concerns over alleged irregularities in the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls, with parties campaigning against what they term "vote chori."
Delhi Police imposed strict conditions, mandating the rally conclude by 5 p.m., with security arrangements including 3,500 personnel, more than 200 CCTV cameras, and 14 zones for crowd management.
While the rally is approved, senior police officials confirmed they have not received a formal request for a proposed march from Minto Road that Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi previously announced.
Traffic restrictions will be in place across Central Delhi from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday, with commuters advised to expect congestion near major intersections and the New Delhi Railway Station.
