Alaska Lawmakers Override 2 Dunleavy Vetoes, Restoring $50M in Education Funding

JUNEAU, ALASKA, AUG 2 – Lawmakers restored a $700 per-student funding increase after overriding vetoes that had created budget uncertainty for schools, with a narrow 45-14 vote, lawmakers said.

Lawmakers adjourned a joint session without considering any of Dunleavy’s other recent vetoes, including of school maintenance and construction funding and other bills that passed with bipartisan support.
