Stellantis Vehicle Shipments Rise 10% in Second Quarter
North American shipments climbed 38% to 445,000 units as the automaker said new models and Leapmotor volumes helped lift quarterly sales.
On Monday, Stellantis reported preliminary second-quarter vehicle shipments rose 10% year-over-year to nearly 1.6 million units, driven by strong growth in North America, its most important market.
Reviving sales is central to CEO Antonio Filosa's turnaround plan, which targets customer defections caused by higher vehicle prices, quality issues, and competition from Chinese manufacturers in recent years.
North American shipments surged 38% to 445,000 units, bolstered by refreshed models including the Ram 1500 and Jeep Grand Wagoneer, while Enlarged Europe shipments rose 5% to 762,000 units.
Growth was partially offset by lower volumes in South America and the Middle East, where regional conflict impacted performance, as Stellantis shares dipped last week to their lowest level since 2021.
Stellantis will report full second-quarter results on July 30, with shipment figures including 33,000 vehicles from Chinese partner Leapmotor, amid broader investor concerns over industry restructuring at Volkswagen.
